The Basics of Being An Affiliate

For those who may not be familiar with affiliate programs, here is how pretty much any affiliate program works: When a visitor comes to the Academy of Sprint website by way of the website of an affiliate, or by an email sent out by the affiliate, it is tracked by the Academy of Spirit website (using the affiliate ID number that was embedded in the link the affiliate placed in their material). That customer is then tagged to be the customer of that affiliate by the Academy of Spirit Shopping Cart. So, anything that customer purchases – FOREVER – will be commissioned at 10% back, to the affiliate. The Academy of Spirit Affiliate Team is set up to hold the affiliates forever, but some programs are only 30 – 90 days, we feel the forever connection is the fairest in with our type of product. The permanent connection with the customer is only valid as long as the customer maintains the same account with Academy of Spirit. If the customer sets up and uses a different account there is no way for us to track it, so that customer will no longer be connected with the affiliate.

We also offer a second tier to our affiliate program. The second tier represents affiliates that have joined because they saw it represented by you, the first, originating affiliate. The originating affiliate will receive a 3% commission on everything that the new affiliate generates; that is also a permanent position as long as the both affiliates maintain their accounts.

People often ask if they will be notified of the specific customers who are associated with them and what those people purchased. The answer to that is NO, you will not know who the customers are or what products they purchased, you will simply know that a sale of X dollars was made and of that sale you get 10% of X.

The system can be set up to notify the affiliates every time they make a sale, by sending them an email saying "Congratulations a sale was made within your affiliate system today. That sale was in the value of X and you will receive 10% of X on your next months check". However, I feel that this is an imposition on a person's email since the products we offer are quite inexpensive and will possibly generate a lot of sales it would not be nice to fill our affiliates email boxes with notification that they made $.50 or even $2.00 many times a day. So we have elected to turn that part of our system off. Each affiliate can check and monitor their sales in real-time in their Affiliate Office as a part of the Academy of Spirit website.

We want our affiliates to succeed and actually earn a check each month that they choose to be active. But, it takes a bit of work on both sides of the affiliate relationship to make a successful program. We will provide a lot of marketing material for our affiliates to use, and we absolutely encourage them to add their own personal experiences about our products into the material they offer to their clients about our products and service. A Personal Recommendation is the BEST way to approach any affiliate marketing relationship. If you can't personally recommend it, you have no business representing it.

The affiliate has some responsibilities in this too. It is really not enough to just take a banner off of our suggested marketing materials pages and stick it on their website. It won't generate any interest at all. To be successful at affiliate marketing the affiliate MUST add a personal recommendation, express their personal experiences, write an article that they post or write up a review and explain why they suggest it. All of these will encourage those who trust the affiliate to visit the suggested website for themselves. That is what will generate the sales that will lead to the monthly commission checks.

It is also suggested by those who made a substantial living off of affiliate marketing that you continue to suggest that your email list visit the affiliate website every time something new comes up. It helps keep the dollars flowing in.

Please allow up to four business days for us to review your site and get back to you about your acceptance in our program – we are usually much faster than that though, but if we get behind we want you to know it may take a few days.

Being an affiliate is a easy and quick way to earn money off of someone else's reputation and experience. It is a great way to develop multiple streams of income by connecting to like-minded websites and sharing their products through your own creative ideas. There are many affiliate marketers who develop full blown advertising campaigns for the products they represent. How each individual affiliate goes about it is complete unique, whatever works for each is perfect.
